The LM158 series consists of two independent, high-gain, internal frequency compensation, which are designed to operate over a wide range of voltage single-supply operational amplifiers. It is also possible that the operation from the split power supply is independent of the voltage of the power supply due to low supply current consumption.

Applications include sensor amplifiers, DC gain modules, and all conventional op-amps that make it easier to implement circuits in a single-supply system. For example, the LM158 series can be operated directly from the standard +5 V supply voltage using a digital system and is conveniently supplied without the need for additional interface circuitry required for ± 15V power supply.

The LM358 and LM2904 are available in a chip size package using National Semiconductor's micro SMD packaging technology (8-bump micro SMD).
