The LP2997 linear regulator is designed to meet the JEDEC SSTL-18 specification for DDR-II memory termination. The device includes a high-speed op-amp to provide excellent load transient response. The output stage prevents the need to terminate shooting by providing both 500 mA continuous current and transient peak when applied up to 900mA for DDR-II SDRAM. The LP2997 also features a V SENSE pin that provides superior load regulation and V as a reference REF output for chipsets and DIMMs.

Another feature found in the LP2997 is a positive low shutdown (^ SD) pin that provides a pend-to-memory (STR) function. When ^ SD is pulled down the V TT output tristate provides a high impedance output, however, V REF will remain active. An energy-saving advantage is achieved in this mode through lower quiescent currents.
