illustrate
National Semiconductor's FlexCap LDO features unique compensation, allowing any type of output capacitor with no limit on the use of minimum or maximum ESR. The LP38500/2 series of low-dropout linear regulators operates from a +2.7 V to +5.5 V input supply. These ultra-low dropout linear regulators respond very quickly to intervene in the load, which makes them suitable for changes in low voltage microprocessor applications. In CMOS process development (utilizing a PMOS transistor), the low quiescent current of the LP38500/2 does not vary much from the load current.
Ground pin current: Typically 2 mA load current is 1.5A.
Disable mode: The enable pin is typically pulled low at 25 nA quiescent current.
Simplified compensation: As with any type of output capacitor, ESR is both stable.
Precision output: "A" with 1.5% VADJTolerance (25 ° C) and above line, load and temperature grade versions are available 3%.
