LP38842 - ADJ is a high-current, fast response regulator that keeps the output voltage regulated with minimal input and output voltage drop. Manufactured using a CMOS process, the device consists of two input voltages: VBIAS provides the voltage to drive the gate of the N-MOS power transistor, and Vin is the input voltage, which is the load supply. The use of external bias rail allows for partial operation of ultra-low Vin voltages. With bipolar regulators, the CMOS architecture consumes very low quiescent current at any output load current. The result of using N-MOS power transistors with wide bandwidth but minimal external capacitance is the need to maintain loop stability.

The fast transient response of these devices makes them suitable for DSP, microcontroller core voltage, and switch-mode power supply regulator power supply. Partial PSOP package.
