illustrate
LP38852 - ADJ is a high-current, fast-response regulator that maintains output voltage regulation with very low input/output voltage drop. Manufactured using the CMOS process, the device is powered from two input voltages: the gate of the N-MOS power transistor driven by the V BIAS voltage, and the V IN is the input voltage load powered. Using an external bias rail allows a portion to operate from ultra-low voltage low V. With bipolar regulators, the CMOS architecture consumes very low quiescent current at any output load current. The result of using N-MOS power transistors with wide bandwidth but minimal external capacitance is the need to maintain loop stability.
The device's fast transient response makes it suitable for power supply in DSPs, microcontroller core voltages, and rear regulators of switching power supplies. One is in the TO-220 and TO-263 7-pin packs.
Differential pressure: 130 mV (typical) at 1.5A load current.
Low ground pin current: At 1.5A load current 14 mA (typical).
Soft start: Programmable soft-start time.
Precision ADJ Voltage: ± 1.5% T J = 25 °C, and ± 2.0% at 0 °C ≤ T J ≤ At 125°C, all lines and load conditions
