illustrate
LP38852 - ADJ is a high current, fast response regulator that maintains output voltage regulation with very low input and output voltage drops. Manufactured on a CMOS process, the device is manufactured from two input voltages: VBIASVoltage driven N-MOS power transistor gate, while VINIt is the input voltage load power supply. The use of an externally biased rail allows part of the operation from ultra-low voltage to low V. Unlike bipolar regulators, CMOS architectures draw very low quiescent current at any output load current. The result of using an N-MOS power transistor with a wide bandwidth but minimal external capacitance is the need to maintain loop stability.
The device's fast transient response makes it suitable for use in DSPs, microcontroller core voltages, and post-regulator power supply of switching power supplies. Part of it is in the TO-220 and TO-263 7-pin packs.
Differential pressure: 130 mV (typical) at 1.5A load current.
Low ground pin current: 14 mA typical load current at 1.5A.
Soft start: Programmable soft-start time.
Precision ADJ voltage: ±1.5%TJ = 25°C, and ± 2.0% is 0°C ≤ TJ ≤ 125°C for all line and load conditions
