The LP3918 is a fully integrated charger and multi-conditioner designed for use with CDMA handpieces. The LP3918 contains a lithium-ion battery charger, 7 low-noise low-drop (LDO) regulators and a high-speed serial interface, on/off conditions and individual regulator output voltages to be programmed, also read from the PMU status information.

Lithium-ion battery chargers integrate power FETs, reverse current blocking diodes, detect resistive current monitor outputs, and require few external components. Charge thermal regulation to obtain the most efficient charging rate for a given ambient temperature.

LDO regulators offer high power supply rejection ratios (PSRR) and low noise, making them ideal for powering both analog and digital loads.
