LMH6517 contains two high-performance, digitally controlled variable gain amplifiers (DVGAs). It is designed for use in both narrowband and wideband IF sampling applications. Typically, LMH6517 a high-performance ADC driver in a wide range of mixed-signal and digital communication applications, such as mobile radio and cellular base stations, requires increasing the system's dynamic range automatic gain control (AGC).

Each channel LMH6517 has an independent digitally controlled attenuator and a high-linearity, differential output amplifier. Each block is optimized for low distortion and maximum system design flexibility. Power savings can be disabled individually for each channel.

LMH6517 digitally controlled attenuators provide precise 0.5 dB gain over the 31.5 dB range. The gain provided by the digital latch on the chip sets local storage. Serial and parallel programming options are available. A pulse mode that also provides a step where a simple up or down command can change the gain time.

The output amplifier allows for differential output of large signal swings from a single 5V supply. The low impedance output provides maximum flexibility when driving a filter or analog-to-digital converter.

The industrial temperature range for LMH6517 operation is -40°C to +85°C. LMH6517 is in a 32-pin thermally enhanced, LLP package.
