The LP3961/LP3964 series of fast ultra-low dropout linear regulators operate from +2.5 V to +7.0 V input supplies. A wide range of preset output voltage options are available. These ultra-low dropout linear regulators respond very quickly to one-step load changes, making them suitable for low-voltage microprocessor applications. The LP3961/LP3964 have been developed using a CMOS process that allows low quiescent current operation with independent output load current. This CMOS process also allows the LP3961/LP3964 to operate at very low differential pressure conditions.
Differential pressure: ultra-low differential pressure; 800 mA load current is typically 80 mA load current and 240mV 24mV.
Ground pin current at 800 mA load current: typically 4 mA.
Shutdown mode: typically 15μA quiescent current when the shutdown pin is pulled down.
Error#Flag: Error# flag becomes low when the output voltage drops below 10% of the nominal value (LP3961).
SENSE: Pin sense, improved load adjustment in the remote area. (LP3964)
The precision output voltage ranges from 1.2V to 5.0V and is adjustable (LP3964) with multiple output voltage options to choose from, one guaranteed to be ± 1.5% accurate at room temperature, and ± above 3.0% for all conditions (different lines, loads, and temperatures).
