The LP3962/LP3965 series of fast ultra-low dropout linear regulators operate from +2.5 V to +7.0 V input supplies. A wide range of preset output voltage options are available. These ultra-low dropout linear regulators respond very quickly to one-step load changes, making them suitable for low-voltage microprocessor applications. The LP3962/LP3965 have been developed using a CMOS process that allows low quiescent current operation with independent output load current. This CMOS process also allows the LP3962/LP3965 to operate at very low differential pressure conditions.
Dropout: Ultra-low dropout, typically at 150mA load current and 380mV at 1.5A load current.
Ground pin current at 1.5A load current: typically 5 mA.
Shutdown mode: typically 15μA quiescent current when the shutdown pin is pulled down.
Error # flag: Error # flag becomes low when the output voltage drops below 10% of the nominal value (LP3962).
SENSE: Pin sense, improved load adjustment in the remote area. (LP3965)
The precision output voltage ranges from 1.2V to 5.0V and is adjustable (LP3965) with multiple output voltage options available, one guaranteed accuracy of ± 1.5% at room temperature, and ± above 3.0% in all conditions (different lines, loads, and temperatures).
