The LP3963/LP3966 series of fast ultra-low dropout linear regulators operate from +2.5 V to +7.0 V input supplies. A wide range of preset output voltage options are available. These ultra-low dropout linear regulators respond very quickly to one-step load changes, making them suitable for use in low-voltage microprocessor applications. The LP3963/LP3966 allow for CMOS process development on independent output load current and low quiescent current operation. This CMOS process also allows the LP3963/LP3966 to operate at very low differential pressure conditions.
Differential voltage: Ultra-low dropout, typically at 300mA load current and 3A load current at 800mV with 80mV.
Ground pin current: Typically 6 mA at 3A load current.
Shutdown mode: Typically 15μA quiescent current when the shutdown pin is pulled down.
Error # flag: Error # flag becomes low when the output voltage drops below 10% of the nominal value (LP3963).
Out: Needle feeling, improved in remote load adjustment. (LP3966)
Precision Output Voltage: There are multiple output voltage options available ranging from 1.2V to 5.0V and adjustable (LP3966), with a guaranteed accuracy of ± 1.5% at room temperature, and ± 3.0% under all conditions (different lines, loads, and temperatures).
