The LP3986 is a 150 mA dual low-dropout regulator designed for portable and wireless applications with demanding performance and board space requirements.
The LP3986 is a small 1μF ± 30% ceramic output capacitor that requires the least possible board space and stability.
The LP3986's performance is optimized for battery-powered systems that provide ultra-low noise, very low dropout voltage, and low quiescent current without load current. The regulator's ground current increases dropout very slightly, further extending battery life. Optional external bypass capacitors further reduce output noise without slowing down load transient response. The fast start time is actively precharged by utilizing an acceleration circuit, bypass capacitor. Power supply suppression is at low frequencies above 60 dB and 55 dB at 10 kHz. Common battery-powered circuits maintain low input voltage at high supply voltage suppression.
The LP3986 is a micro SMD package. It is specified for performance over a temperature range of -40°C to +125°C. For a single LDO application, refer to the LP3985 datasheet.
