The LP5523 is a 9-channel LED driver designed to produce lighting effects for mobile devices. A high-efficiency charge pump allows the LEDs to operate over the entire lithium-ion battery voltage range. The device is equipped with an internal program memory, which makes it possible to control the operation of the processor.

The LP5523 maintains a wide operating range and autonomously selects the best charging pump gain based on the positive voltage requirements of the LEDs for excellent efficiency. The LP5523 is capable of automatically entering power saving mode when the LED output is inactive, reducing standby current consumption to 10μA (typical).

The LP5523 has an I 2 The C-compatible control interface has four pins of selectable addresses. The device has a flexible universal output (GPO) that can be used as a digital control pin for other devices. The INT pin can be used to notify the processor when the lighting sequence has ended (interrupting the function). In addition, the device has a trigger input interface, which allows synchronization, for example, between multiple LP5523 devices.

The unit requires only four small and low-cost ceramic capacitors. The LP5523 is available in a micro SMD package (0.4 mm pitch) in a tiny 25 bump 2.27 mm x 2.27 mm × 0.60 mm micro SMD.
