®The LT 1017/LT1018 are general-purpose micropower comparators. The LT1017 is optimized for extremely low operating power consumption, while the LT1018 operates at higher power and higher speeds. Both devices can operate from a single 1.1V battery to a voltage range of up to 40V. The output stage includes a Class "B" pull-up current source, which eliminates the need for an external resistive pull-up element and saves power. The output stage is also designed to drive a load that allows it to be connected to a power supply that is corrected to the device's V+, as comparators with open-collector output stages can do. The input specs are also excellent. On-chip trimming minimizes offset voltages, while high gain and common-mode rejection ratios keep other input-related errors very low. The common-mode voltage range includes ground potential. Special circuitry prevents incorrect output states, even if the input is overdriven. The LT1017/LT1018 pins are compatible with older dual-channel comparators such as the Model 393 device.
