description
™LT 1073 is a versatile micro-power DC/DC converter. The device requires only three external components to provide a fixed 5V or 12V output. A very low minimum supply voltage of 1V allows for a single cell use LT1073 in applications. The auxiliary gain module on the chip can function as a low-cell voltage detector or after a linear regulator.
Typical application circuits in use The LT1073-5 has an average leakage current of only 135μA offloaded, and its long battery life is ideal for applications where it is very important. The circuit shown can provide a 5V input at 40 mA, 1.25V and 5V low at 10mA from 1V input.
The device can be easily configured as a step-up or buck converter, although for most buck applications or input sources greater than 3V, the LT1173 is recommended. Switching current limit, user-adjustable, by adding an external resistor. The unique reverse battery protection circuitry is limited to reverse supply safety, with a lossless horizontal reverse current voltage of up to 1.6V.
