® The LT 1078 is a micropower dual-operation amplifier in an 8-lead package including a small outline surface mount package. The LT1079 is a microquad op amp available in a standard 14-lead package. Both devices are optimized for single-supply operation at 5V. Also available in ± 15V specifications.
The performance of micro-comparable devices is achieved at the expense of careful and degrading accuracy, noise, speed, and output driver specifications. The LT1078/LT1079 are designed to focus on reducing supply current without sacrificing other parameters. The offset voltage reaches the lowest level of a regulated op amp micro or any other double or quad nonchopper. Bias current, voltage and current noise, slew rate, and gain-bandwidth product are twenty times better, better than previous micropower op amps.
At a voltage noise spectrum of 0.7Hz at an angle of 1/f, at least three times lower than any monolithic op amp. Devices with higher supply current order can only find this result in noise performance at low frequencies (0.1Hz to 10Hz).
The LT1078 and LT1079 can be operated from a single supply (one lithium battery or nickel-cadmium battery low). The input range is below ground. The ground fluctuates by a few millivolts during the full NPN output stage, while the current is drawn without the power to pull down the consumption needs of the pull-down resistor.
