description

LT^®The 1120 integrates a micropower positive regulator and an independent collector comparator on a single chip. The LT1120 is capable of delivering over 125mA of output current from only 40μA. The input voltage range is 4.5V to 36V and the dropout voltage is 0.6V at 125mA. The dropout voltage decreases as the load current drops. A Class B output 2.5V reference capable of sourcing or sinking current is also integrated on the chip. A shutdown pin implements the logic shutdown of the output.

Comparators can be used for system or battery monitoring. For example, a comparator can be employed to warn of a "low system voltage" condition. Comparator frequency compensation for amplifier applications can be accomplished by adding an external output capacitor.

The 2.5V reference will source or sink current. This allows it to be used as a power splitter or auxiliary output.
