™LT 1130A/LT1140A RS232 Driver/Receiver features a special bipolar type of construction technology that protects the driver and receiver beyond fault conditions for RS232. Driver output and receiver input, can short-circuit up to ± 30V without damaging the device or power generator. In addition, the RS232 I/O pins are resilient to multiple ± 10kV ESD shock. An advanced driver output stage operates at up to 250kbaud while driving large capacitive loads. The power supply current is usually 12 mA, which is the competitiveness of CMOS devices.
