The LT1173 is a versatile micropower dc-to-dc converter. The device requires only three external components to provide a fixed 5V or 12V output. The boost mode and 30V supply voltage range from 2.0V to 12V buck mode. The LT1173 also excels in boost, buck or inverting applications. The LT1173 consumes only 110μA of supply current, making low quiescent % current ideal for applications where standby is important. The device can deliver 5V, 12V input in buck mode at 80mA at 200mA from the boost mode or 5V, 3V input. The switch current limit can be programmed with a single resistor. An auxiliary gain block can be configured as a low battery voltage detector, linear post-regulator, undervoltage lockout circuit, and error amplifier. For input sources up to 2V, use the LT1073.
