The LT1300 is a micro-power boost DC/DC converter that operates in burst mode trade-in. The device can deliver 5V or 3.3V from the battery input of two batteries. It features programmable logic control of the input 5V or 3.3V output, 120μA no-load quiescent current and a stop pin to reduce the supply current to 10μA. The power switch on the chip switches at 1A at a switching current, four times higher than the previous design, reducing the saturation voltage by 170mV. The 155kHz internal oscillator allows for the use of extremely small surface mount inductors and capacitors. Guaranteed to work at 1.8V input. This allows more energy to be extracted from the battery operating life. The LIM pin can be used to scheme peak switching current with a single resistor that allows the use of cheaper and smaller inductors and capacitors in lighter load applications. The LT1300 is available in an 8-pin SOIC package that minimizes board space requirements. For a 5V/12V option, put the converter on the LT1301. LT1302 to increase output current.
