  description

  ®The LT 1372/LT1377 are monolithic high-frequency switching regulators. They operate on all standard switching configurations, including boost, buck, flyback, feedforward, negative output, and "Cuk". The silicon includes a 1.5A high-efficiency switch and all oscillator, control, and protection circuitry. All features of the LT1372/LT1377 are integrated into an 8-pin SO/PDIP package.

  The LT1372/LT1377 have a typical quiescent current of only 4mA and are more efficient than previous devices. High-frequency switches allow the use of very small inductors. All surface mount components take up less than 0.5 square inches of board area.

  New design techniques increase flexibility while maintaining ease of use. The switching circuit is synchronized with an external logic-level signal source. Applying a logic low to the shutdown pin reduces the supply current to 12μA. A unique error amplifier circuit adjusts positive or negative output voltages while maintaining easy frequency compensation. The transconductivity of nonlinear error amplifiers reduces output overshoot during start-up or overload recovery.
