® The LT 1506 is a 500kHz monolithic buck mode switching regulator with the same functionality as the LT1374, but optimized for low input voltage applications. It compares the LT1374 operating from a 4V to 15V input range to 5.5V to 25V. A 4.5A switch is dead together with all the necessary oscillators, controls, and logic circuitry. The high switching frequency allows the size of external components to be greatly reduced. The topology enables a current mode with fast transient response and good loop stability. Fixed output voltage and adjustable section. A special high-speed bipolar process and new design technology achieve high efficiency and high switching frequency. The efficiency is to maintain a quiescent supply current of 4mA over a wide output current range and saturate the power switch with a supply boost capacitor. The LT1506 fits into a standard 7-pin DD and fusion resulting SO-8 package. Provides short-circuit protection and thermal shutdown with full cycle cycles. Standard surface-mount external parts, including inductors and capacitors, are used. There are optional features to turn off or sync. A shutdown signal reduces the supply current to 20μA. Synchronization allows external logic level signals to be added from 580kHz to the 1MHz internal oscillator.
