® The LT 1507 is a 500kHz monolithic buck-mode switching regulator that features the same LT1375 but is optimized for low input voltage applications. It will operate in a 4V to 15V input range, compared to the LT1375 from 5.5V to 25V. A 1.5A switch is the one that contains all the necessary oscillator, control and logic circuitry to die together. The high switching frequency allows for a significant reduction in the size of external components. The topology enables a current pattern with fast transient response and good loop stability. Fixed output voltage (3.3V) and adjustable section. A special high-speed bipolar process and new design technology allow this regulation to achieve high efficiency and high switching frequency. The efficiency is maintained over a wide output current range of 4mA and utilizes a power boost capacitor to allow the saturation of the NPN power switch. A shutdown signal will reduce the supply current to 20μA. The LT1507 can input an external synchronous logic level from 570kHz to 1MHz. The 8-pin SO and PDIP packages fit into the standard LT1507. High efficiency design with minimal temperature rise. Provides short-circuit protection and thermal shutdown for a full cycle cycle. Standard surface mount external components include inductors and capacitors used.
