description

® The LT 1641 is an 8-pin hot-swappable ™ controller that allows boards to be safely inserted and removed from a live backplane. Using an external N-channel transistor, the board's supply voltage can be sufficient to hold a programmable rate. A high-side switching driver controls the supply voltage range from 9V to 80V N-channel gate.

The chip features a programmable analog foldback current limiting circuit. If the chip remains at a programmable time current limit, the N-channel transistor is turned off and the option is set to automatically restart after a timeout.

PWRGD output indicates when the output voltage FB pin detects, within tolerance. The ON pin provides programmable undervoltage lockout.

The LT1641-1/LT1641-2 is recommended for new designs.

The LT1641 is available in an 8-lead SO package.
