®The LT 1763 series is a low-power, low-noise, low-dropout regulator. These devices are capable of delivering an output current of 500mA and a dropout voltage of 300mV. The series is designed for use in battery-powered systems, and the low quiescent current of 30μA makes it an ideal choice. quiescent current is in a well-controlled state; Unlike many other regulators, this series does not rise in quiescent current when stepping down.
An important feature of the LT1763 regulator is its low output noise. With the addition of an external 0.01μF bypass capacitor, the output noise is reduced to 20μVRMS (within a bandwidth of 10Hz to 100kHz). The LT1763 regulator provides stability when using output capacitors as low as 3.3μF. Small ceramic capacitors can be used, rather than the need for series resistors like other voltage regulators.
The internal protection circuitry includes reverse battery protection, current limiting, thermal limiting, and reverse current protection. They are available in fixed output voltages of 1.5V, 1.8V, 2.5V, 3V, 3.3V, and 5V and are available as an adjustable device with a 1.22V reference.
