The device provides up to 1A output current and a typical dropout voltage of 145mV. The LT3022 is ideal for low input to low output voltage applications, providing electrical efficiency comparable to that of switching regulators. The regulator utilizes low ESR ceramic output capacitors as small as 10μF to optimize stability and transient response. Other features of the LT3022 include a 0.05% typical voltage regulation and a 0.05% typical load regulation. In shutdown mode, quiescent current typically drops to 7.5μA. The internal protection circuitry includes reverse battery protection, current limiting, thermal limiting with hysteresis and reverse current protection. The LT3022 is available as an adjustable device and has an output voltage range as low as 200mV reference. Three fixed output voltages are also available: 1.2V, 1.5V, and 1.8V.
