The device can provide up to 5A output current and a typical dropout voltage of 85mV. A 0.01μF reference bypass capacitor reduces output voltage noise to 25μVRMS. The high bandwidth of the LT3071 allows the use of low ESR ceramic capacitors, eliminating the need for large-capacity capacitors and saving costs. The many features of the LT3071 make it highly suitable for high-performance FPGAs, microprocessors, or sensitive communication power applications. Output voltage can be selected digitally (selectable range from 0.8V to 1.8V, in 50mV increments). An analog margin adjustment function allows users to adjust system output voltage within a continuous range of ±10%. This IC features a unique tracking function to control a buck regulator responsible for powering the input to the LT3071. This tracking function drives buck regulators, aiming to keep the LT3071's input voltage at VOUT + 300mV, thereby minimizing power consumption. The device's internal protection features include UVLO, reverse current protection, precise current limiting with power return, and hot shutdown. The LT3071 regulator features a heat-resistant 28-pin 4mm x 5mm QFN package.
