description

®The LT 3517 is a current-mode DC/DC converter with an internal 1.5A, 45V switch, specifically designed to drive LEDs. The LT3517 functions as an LED driver and can operate in boost, step-down, and buck-boost modes. It combines a traditional voltage loop with a unique current loop to serve as a constant current source or constant voltage source. Programmable switching frequencies allow external components to be optimized for efficiency or component size requirements. It enables the LT3517's switching frequency to be synchronized with an external clock signal. A 100mV detection resistor can be used to externally set the LED current. The external PWM input provides up to 5000:1 LED dimming capability. The CTRL pin provides an additional 10:1 dimming ratio.

The LT3517 comes in a small board-occupied 16-pin QFN (4mm x 4mm) and 16-pin TSSOP packages. The LT3517 provides a complete solution for constant voltage and constant current applications.
