description

®The LT 3590 is a fixed-frequency buck-mode converter designed to drive up to 10 series LEDs from a single 48V DC supply. The series connection of the LEDs provides equal LED current (up to 50mA), resulting in uniform brightness and eliminating the need for additional ballast resistors. A fixed-frequency, current-mode architecture enables stable operation over a wide range of input and output voltages. The high switching frequency of 850kHz allows for the use of slim, flat inductors and capacitors. A single pin is responsible for performing shutdown and accurate LED dimming control. The power switch, Schottky diode, and control circuitry are all housed in a space-saving SC70 or 2mm x 2mm DFN package for a small converter footprint and low device cost.
