description

®The LT 4250L/LT4250H is an 8-pin, negative 48V hot-swap™ controller that allows boards to be safely plugged and unplugged on a live backplane. By controlling the gate voltage of an external N-channel path transistor, the inrush current can be limited to a settable value. If the input voltage is less than the settable undervoltage threshold or greater than the overvoltage threshold, the path transistor is shut down. Configurable current limits protect the system from short circuits. After a 500us time limit, the current limit starts the electronic circuit breaker. PWRGD (LT4250L) or PWRGD (LT4250H) signals can be used to directly enable a power module. LT4250L is designed for modules with low enable inputs, and LT4250H is designed for modules with high enable inputs.

The LT4250L/LT4250H is available in an 8-pin PDIP and SO package.
