LT^®4356 浪涌抑制器可保护负载免遭高压瞬变的损坏。它能够通过控制一个外部 N 沟道 MOSFET 的栅极in order to在过压过程中 (比如：汽车应用中的负载突降情况) 调节输出。输出被限制在一个安全的数值上，从而允许负载继续运作。LT4356-1 还监视 V_CC 和 SNS 引脚之间的压降，以防止遭受过流故障的影响。一个内部放大器用于把电流检测电压限制为 50mV。不管在哪一种故障条件下，定时器的起动均与 MOSFET 应力成反比。如果定时器操作终止，则 FLT 引脚将被拉至低电平，以发出 “Power outage”的警告。如果该条件一直持续，MOSFET 将关断。在经过一个冷却周期之后，GATE 引脚将被拉至高电平，从而再次接通 MOSFET。

Back-to-back FETs can be used in place of Schottky diodes to provide reverse input protection, reducing voltage drop and power loss. For the LT4356-1, a single shutdown pin reduces the quiescent current during its shutdown to less than 7uA. The LT4356-2, on the other hand, differs from the LT4356-1 in that it reduces quiescent current to 60uA during downtime and keeps the auxiliary amplifier in operation for use such as undervoltage latching circuitry or always-on regulators.
