The output is limited to a safe value, allowing the load to continue operating. The LT4356-1 also monitors V_CCand voltage drop between the SNS pins to protect against overcurrent faults. The LT4356-2, on the other hand, differs from the LT4356-1 in that it reduces quiescent current to 60uA during shutdown and leaves the auxiliary amplifier running for circuits such as undervoltage lockout or always-on regulators.
