description

LTC1096/LTC1098 is a micropower, 8-bit A/D converter that absorbs only 80μA of supply current when converted. They do not perform a conversion when they automatically shut down 1NA typical supply current. They are packaged in an 8-pin SO package and operate from a 3V to 9V supply. The 8-bit switched capacitor successive approximation ADC includes sampling and holding. LTC1096 has a single differential analog input. LTC1098 provides a software option for 2-channel MUX. The on-chip serial port allows for efficient data transfer on a wide range of microprocessors and microcontrollers. , which, together with micropower consumption, makes remote locations possible and facilitates the transmission of data through isolation barriers. These circuits can be used in scale applications or external references. The high impedance analog input and operating capability with reduced spans (less than 1V full scale) allows for direct connection to sensors and transducers in many applications, eliminating the need for gain stages. All grades specify an offset and a maximum linear error of 0.5LSB with temperature. Class A devices specify a maximum total non-adjustable error of 0.5LSB with temperature.
