description
In addition, the LTC ® 1148 series is a synchronous buck switching regulator controller with automatic burst mode ™ operation to maintain high efficiency at low output currents. These devices drive external complementary power MOSFETs switching up to 250kHz using a constant shutdown time current mode architecture, and the inductors provide constant ripple current.
The operating current level is user-programmable by means of an external current sense resistor. Wide input voltage range allows operation from 3.5V* to 18V (20V max). A constant shutdown time architecture that provides low dropout regulation of the resistance of limited R DS(ON) external MOSFETs and inductors and current-sense resistors.
LTC1148 series combines the highest efficiency, synchronous switching of high currents in automatic low-current operation mode, the so-called burst mode operation, thus reducing switching losses. Standby power consumption is reduced to only 2MW (I OUT = 0) at V IN = 10V. Typical 0 mA of load current of 300mA for burst mode operation.
