The LTC1255 dual high-side drivers allow the use of low cost N-channel FETs for high side industrial and automotive switching applications. An internal charge pump boosts the gate drive voltage of the aggressive railway described above, fully enhancing the N-channel MOS switch without external components. Low-power operation, with a standby current of 12μA, allows use in almost all systems with the highest efficiency. Included is independent overcurrent detection on the chip to provide automatic shutdown in the event of a short circuit. Time delay can be added to the current meaning to prevent spurious high triggering in inrush current loads. The LTC1255 operates 9V to 24V supplies and is suitable for industrial and automotive applications. The LTC1255 is available in both 8-pin DIPs and 8-pin SOICs.
