The LTC™1265 is a monolithic one-step power-down current mode DC/DC converter with low output current Burst Mode operation. The LTC1265 integrates a 0.3 ohm switch (= 10V V) that allows up to 1.2A of output current. At no load, the converter consumes only 160μA. It typically consumes only 5μA in shutdown mode, making this converter ideal for current-sensitive applications. The dropout internal P-channel MOSFET switch turns on to maximize the lifetime of the battery source. The LTC1265 uses automatic power-down Burst Mode operation to reduce gate charge loss when load current drops below levels required for continuous operation. The current in the user-programmable inductor passes through an external current sense resistor. Operates up to 700kHz, allowing the use of small surface mount inductors and capacitors.
