description

The LTC ® 1323 is a multi-protocol AppleTalk or EIA562 compatible single-ended network with a line-of-operation transceiver design when operating from a single 5V supply. There are two versions of the LTC1323 available: a 16-pin design that connects to the AppleTalk network, which also includes a 24-pin version of the receiver to create an additional single-ended driver and receiver with an Apple-compatible serial port. An on-board charge pump generates a 5V power supply that can be used to power external devices. In addition, the 24-pin function LTC1323 a mode in which the micropower remains active, during which one of the single-ended receivers remains actively monitoring the external wake-up signal. LTC1323 shoots only 2.4 millimeters of resting current active, while the receiver remains active in mode, and 0.5μA at 65μA at power off, making it ideal for use in battery-powered systems. Differential drives can drive poor AppleTalk loads or traditional single-ended loads. When disabled, the driver outputs a tristate, during shutdown, while the receiver remains in active mode, or when the power is turned off. The driver output will maintain high impedance even beyond the power rail with the output common mode voltage. ± 10kV protection against ESD damage to protect against driver output and receiver input.
