description
The LTC ® 1323 is a multiprotocol AppleTalk or EIA562 compliant single-ended network operating line transceiver design when operating from a single 5V supply. Two versions of the LTC1323 are available: a 16-pin version designed to connect to AppleTalk networks, which also includes a 24-pin version to create an additional single-ended driver and receiver for an Apple-compatible serial port. An on-board charge pump generates a 5V supply that can be used to power external devices. In addition, the 24-pin feature LTC1323 micropower keep-alive mode during which one of the single-ended receivers remains active to monitor an external wake-up signal. The LTC1323 shoots only 2.4 mA quiescent current activity when active in receiver, and 0.5μA at shutdown at 65μA, making it ideal for use in battery-powered systems. Differential drivers can drive poor AppleTalk loads or traditional single-ended loads. When disabled, the driver outputs tri-state, during shutdown, while the receiver remains in active mode, or when the power is turned off. The driver output will remain high impedance, even beyond the rails with the output common-mode voltage. ± 10kV ESD damage protection against driver outputs and receiver inputs.
