The LTC™1348 is a 3-driver/5-receiver RS232 transceiver with very low supply current. The charge pump requires only 500 0.1μF capacitors. The LTC1348 provides full RS232 output levels with a wide supply voltage range of 3V to 5.5V and operates in one of four modes: normal, receiver disabled, receive alive, and off. In normal or receiver disable mode, mineCCIt is only available at 3.3V and 5V800μA 600μA no-load conditions. In shutdown mode, the supply current is further reduced to 0.2μA. In receive-alive mode, all 5 receivers are more efficient and supply current is 15μA. All RS232 outputs assume a high impedance state, either in shutdown or receive alive mode or power-off. The receiver output, in the high impedance state of the receiver, is disabled in a power failure or. The LTC1348 is fully compatible with all data rates and overvoltage RS-232 specifications. The transceiver operates at frequencies up to 120kbaud 1000PF and loads all drivers at 3kohms. Two driver outputs and receiver inputs, which can be forced up to 25V without damage, are able to withstand multiple ± 10kV ESD shocks.
