LTC1384CSW
The 5V low-power RS-232 transceiver 2 receiver is active in shutdown
peculiarity
- Available from a single 5V supply
- Low supply current: ICC = 220μA
- ICC = 35μA The two receivers are in shutdown mode, which is more let
- ESD protection of more than ± 10kV
- Use small capacitors: 0.1μF
- Operate up to 120kBaud
- The output overvoltage does not force the supply current to flow back
- The I/O line of RS232 can be forced to ± 25V without damage
- Pin compatible with LT1180A
description
The LTC™1384 is an ultra-low-power 2-driver/2-receiver RS232 transceiver that operates from a single 5V supply. The charge pump requires only four 0.1μF capacitors to save space.
The transceiver works in two modes, normal and off. In normal mode, the ICC with the unloaded driver output is only 220μA. In the shutdown state, the charge pump shuts down, the driver output is forced into a three-state, and the two receivers remain active and the ICC drops to 35μA. It may be forced that the receiver output is tri-state, using the receive enable pin (RX ZH) at any time.
LTC1384 is fully compatible with all data rates and overvoltage RS-232 specifications. The transceiver can operate on a 2500pF, 3KΩ load up to 120kbaud. Two driver outputs and receiver inputs, forced to 25V without damage, capable of withstanding multiple ± 10kV ESD shocks.
