description

The LTC ® 1412 is a 12-bit, 3Msps, sample A/D converter. This high-performance device includes high dynamic range sampling and holding, an accurate reference. From ± 5V work supplies only 150MW. ± 2.5V input range is optimized for low noise and low distortion. Most high-performance operational amplifiers can also perform the best in this range, allowing direct connection to analog inputs and eliminating the need for special conversion circuitry. Excellent AC performance includes S/(N+D) at 72 dB and SFDR at 82 dB at 1.5MHz Nyquist input frequency. Unique differential input sampling and hold, which can acquire 40MHz bandwidth for single-ended or differential input signals. 60dB common-mode rejection allows the user to eliminate ground loop and common-mode noise at the source by measuring differences in signals. The ADC has a high-speed 12-bit parallel output port. There is no pipeline delay in the conversion results. A separate FIFO, DSP and microprocessor convert the start input and the converter's status signal (BUSY) for easy connection. The power pin of a digital output driver can be connected directly to the 3V logic.
