description

The LTC ® 1422 is an 8-pin hot-swappable ™ controller that allows boards to be safely inserted and removed from a live backplane. Using an external N-channel transistor, the board's supply voltage can be sufficient to hold a programmable rate. The high-side switch driver controls the supply voltage range from 2.7V to 12V N-channel gates.

A programmable electronic circuit breaker prevents shorts. The RESET output can be used to generate a system reset when the supply voltage drops below the programmable voltage. The ON pin can be used to cycle the board's power supply, or to generate a soft reset.

LTC1422 is available in 8-pin PDIP and SO packages.
