The LTC ® 1430 is a high-power, high-efficiency switching regulator controller optimized for 5V 3.xV applications. It includes an accurate internal reference and internal feedback system that can provide the output with ± 1% regulation of temperature, load current, and line voltage changes. LTC1430 uses a synchronous switching architecture with two N-channel output devices, eliminating the need for high-power, high-cost, P-channel devices. In addition, it senses the output current through the drain-source resistor of the upper N-channel FET, eliminating the need for an external low-value inductor resistor to provide an adjustable current limit.
LTC1430 includes fixed-frequency PWM oscillators with low output ripple in almost all operating conditions. The clock frequency running freely at 200kHz can be adjusted externally from 100kHz to 500kHz as described above. LTC1430 features a quiescent current of 350μA and output current from 1A to 50A greater than the efficiency allowed in converter design greater than 90% operation. Shutdown mode drops LTC1430 supply current down to 1μA.
