The built-in charge pump generates a gate drive with a higher specific supply voltage to fully enhance the internal NMOS switch. This switch passes through the switch, and when it is turned off, the output input supply voltage is forced above the parasitic diode and therefore no current flows through. (The parasitic diode of the DMOS switch becomes the bias that raises these conditions.) LTC1477/LTC1478 of two-level protection is provided. The first level is to limit the protection short-circuit current to 2A. Short-circuit current reduces portion disconnection (see application information) of low-power devices by up to 0.85A. The second level is protection that provides thermal overload protection, which limits the temperature of the mold to about 130 ° C. LTC1477 is available in an 8-lead SO package. LTC1478 dual is available in a 16-pin SO package.
