The bit programmable synchronous switching regulator controller is a Pentium ® II processor

The LTC™1553 is a high-power, high-efficiency switching regulator controller optimized for applications with 5V or 12V input 1.8V - 3.5V output. It features a digital programmable output voltage, precise internal reference, and internal feedback system, providing 1.5% output accuracy at room temperature (typically 2%, overheating, load current, and line voltage variations). LTC1553 uses a synchronous switching architecture of two external N-channel output devices to provide high efficiency and eliminate the need for high-power, costly P-channel devices. Additionally, the N-channel FET conduction resistor across the entire upper layer provides an adjustable current limit without the need for an external low-value inductive resistor. LTC1553 runs at 300kHz for faster external clock synchronization if needed. It includes all inputs and outputs required to implement a power supply that meets the VRM 8.2 DC/DC converter specifications for Intel Pentium II processors.
