The LTC ® 1555L provides power conversion and level conversion and requires a low-voltage GSM mobile phone 3V or 5V user identification module (SIM card) interface. This section contains a patented buck/boost charging pump DC/DC converter that provides a regulated V CC supply voltage SIM card. The input voltage ranges from 2.6V to 6V and can be connected directly to the battery. The output voltage may be 3V, 5V or directly connected to the V IN pin.

The internal level translator allows the controller to interface with 3V and 5V SIM cards with low 1.425V consumables. The soft-start feature limits inrush current conduction and mitigates start-up issues that may occur when input is provided by another low-power DC/DC converter. Battery life maximizes 40μA operating current and 1μA shutdown current. The smallest board area is a miniature 16-pin narrow SSOP package that requires only three small external capacitors.
