The LTC ® 1555L provides power conversion and level translation and requires a low voltage GSM mobile phone 3V or 5V subscriber identification module (SIM card) interface. This section contains a patented buck/boost charge pump DC/DC converter that is regulated to be regulatedtubeThe V CC supply voltage of the SIM card. The input voltage ranges from 2.6V to 6V and can be connected directly to the battery. The output voltage may be beprogrammed 3V, 5V or connected directly to VINof pins.

An internal level translator allows 1.425V low consumables to interface with 3V and 5V SIM cards for the controller. The soft-start feature limits inrush current turn-on, alleviating start-up issues that can result when the input is provided by another low-power DC/DC converter. Battery life maximizes 40μA operating current and 1μA shutdown current. The smallest board area is a tiny 16-pin narrow SSOP package with only three small external capacitors required.
