The LTC ® 1625 is a synchronous buck-switching regulator controller that drives an external N-channel power MOSFET using few external components. The MOSFET V DS inductive current mode control eliminates the need for a detector and improves efficiency. The frequency of the nominal 150kHz internal oscillator can exceed the external clock synchronization in the frequency range of 1.5:1. Burst mode ® reduces switching losses and low dropout operation at low load currents, extending the operating time of battery-powered systems. The forced continuous mode control pin can assist in the regulation of the main output load when the burst mode operation is disabled, and the secondary winding is very light. Foldback current limiting and output overvoltage comparator fault protection. The RUN/SS pin is connected to an external capacitor to provide a soft-start function for power sequencing. The wide voltage range allows operation from 3.7V (3.9V is LTC1625I) to 36V input and 1.19V to V output.
