description
The LTC®1662 is an ultra-low-power, fully buffered voltage output, dual-channel 10-bit digital-to-analog converter (DAC). Each DAC channel draws only 1.7μA (typical) of total supply + reference operating current, yet is capable of delivering over 1mA of DC output current and reliably driving capacitive loads up to 1000pF. A programmable sleep mode further reduces the total operating current to 0.05μA.
The proprietary intrinsically monotonous architecture of Linear provides excellent linearity and achieves an exceptionally small external shape. The dual-buffered input logic circuitry provides simultaneous update capability and can be used to perform write operations to the DAC without interrupting sleep mode.
With its tiny operating current and exceptionally slim form factor, the LTC1662 is ideal for most power-constrained products. For most designs, it has no noticeable impact on the power budget; LTC1662 absorbs currents many times lower than even a variable resistor, while providing a buffered, low-impedance (0.5Ω typical, VCC = 5V) rail-to-rail output.
LTC1662 is pin and software compatible with LTC1661 dual-channel, 60μA, 10-bit DACs. The device is available in an 8-pin MSOP and PDIP package and has a defined industrial temperature range.
