description

The LTC™1707 is a high-efficiency, monolithic current-mode synchronous buck regulator with a fixed-frequency architecture. The operating power supply range drops from 8.5V to 2.85V, making it suitable for applications powered by single and dual lithium-ion batteries. Burst mode operation provides high efficiency at low load currents. The 100% duty cycle provides low drop operation, extending the uptime of battery-powered systems. The switching frequency set internally is 350kHz, allowing for the use of small surface mount inductors. For those noise-sensitive applications, it can be externally synchronized up to 550kHz. Burst mode operation is suppressed during synchronization or when the SYNC/MODE pin is pulled down, preventing low-frequency ripple from interfering with the audio circuit. Soft start is provided by an external capacitor. Internal synchronous MOSFET switches increase efficiency and eliminate the need for an external Schottky diode, saving component and board space. It is easy to achieve low output voltages as low as 0.8V to 0.8V internal references. 8-lead SO package LTC1707.
