description

The LTC ® 1771 is a high-efficiency current-mode boost DC/DC controller that attracts output current regulation from a 10μA DC supply at no-load while maintaining high load efficiency of up to a few amps less. LTC1771 drive external P-channel power MOSFETs with current mode and constant shutdown time architecture. An external detector is used to detect the operating current level of the scheme. Current mode control provides short-circuit protection, excellent transient response and control start-up behavior. Burst mode operation keeps the LTC1771 down to very low currents to maintain high efficiency. Shutdown mode, which further reduces the supply current to only 2μA. For low-noise applications, Burst Mode operates and can be easily disabled with the MODE pin. The wide input supply voltage range of 2.8V to 18V (20V max) makes it important to operate LTC1771 a variety of low dropouts to extend battery life in 100% duty cycle operation in ideal battery-powered applications. Both are available in 8-pin MSOP and SO packages, and LTC1771 availability provides a minimal area solution.
