LTC^®The 3205 is a highly integrated multi-display LED controller. The device includes a high-efficiency, low-noise fractional step-up/step-down charge pump to power primary and secondary white LED displays and an RGB color LED display. The LTC3205 requires only four small ceramicscapacitorand tworesistorThis forms a complete three-screen LED power and current controller.

The maximum current for the primary/secondary display as well as the RGB display is individually set by a resistor. The current of each LED is controlled by an internal current source. Dimming and ON/OFF control of all displays is done via a 3-wire serial interface. The main and secondary displays have four dimming states, while the red, green, and blue LEDs are available in 16 dimming states via internal PWM, enabling up to 4096 color combinations.

The LTC3205's charge pump is available according to V_INand LED forward voltage conditions to optimize efficiency. The device powers up in buck mode and automatically transitions to boost mode as soon as any enabled LED current source begins to enter a dropout state. Internal circuitry protects against inrush currents and excessive input noise during start-up and mode transitions.

The LTC3205 is available in a low profile 24-lead (4mm×4mm × 0.8mm) QFN package.
