description

The LTC®3206 is a highly integrated, multi-display LED controller. The device includes a high-efficiency, low-noise fraction boost/direct-attach charge pump to power the primary and secondary white LED displays and an RGB color LED display. LTC3206 Only 4 small ceramic capacitors and 2 resistors are required to form a complete triple-screen LED power supply and current controller.

The maximum current for the main/secondary displays and the RGB display is set separately. The current of each LED is controlled by an internal current source. Dimming and ON/OFF control of all displays is done via a two-wire serial interface. The two auxiliary LED pins can be assigned separately to the primary or secondary display. Both the main and secondary displays have 16 independent dimming states. Each red, green, and blue LED has 16 dimming states, enabling up to 4096 color combinations.

LTC3206's charging pumps optimize efficiency based on VIN and LED forward voltage conditions. The device is powered on in direct connection mode and automatically transitions to 1.5x boost mode as soon as any enabled LED current source begins to enter a voltage drop state. The internal circuitry prevents inrush current and excessive input noise during start-up and mode transition. LTC3206 is available in a 24-pin (4mm×4mm) QFN package.
